43-year-old actor Chadwick Boseman died Friday, August 28, surrounded by his family and friends. Boseman, who is most famous for his role as T’Challa in Marvel’s “Black Panther,” kept the news of his health condition a secret from the public. Boseman’s family shared the news of his passing in a statement. In this statement, it was announced that Boseman was battling colon cancer for the past four years.
He was suffering so much that he had to use a broom 🧹 stick to walk; most people laughed and made memes from his pictures because he was losing weight, but the whole time he was sick (4 years of colon cancer suffering) and he was fighting for his life. You really never know what someone is going through.
In the statement, his family said, “A true fighter, Chadwick persevered through it all, and brought you many of the films you have come to love so much.”Boseman first brought T’Challa’s character in 2016’s “Captain America: Civil War.” Two years later, Black Panther graced the big screen, solidifying the love of T’Challa and popularity of the Black Panther salute in the hearts of millions.
T’Challa was a great leader and inspiration to men children and women all over the world, regardless of background or race. The role of T’Challa made many view Boseman as a real-life hero. Many children aspired to be like him and achieve the things he did. When “Black Panther” came out in 2018, the Black Panther’s costumes, music, and cinematography shifted mainstream trends towards ones that were more inclusive of African history. Black Panther made it’s way off the screen and into the homes, parties, and the lifestyles of many. Consequently, it is believed that “Black Panther” is one of the greatest movies ever made.
Chadwick Boseman died at his home in the Los Angeles area with his beloved wife and family by his side.
Many are describing Chadwick as a true fighter as he persevered through it all. “From Marshall to Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom and several more- all were filmed during and between countless surgeries and chemotherapy. It was the honour of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther,” his family said in their statement.
Our condolence goes out to Chadwick’s family. May his soul rest in peace.
It is very sad and heartbreaking to see anyone go through the trials that cancer brings. This is why we must make our life right by God while we are alive. Life is short. Live it to the fullest by the grace of God. Although Black Panther may only be a film, its legacy will live on forever.
